Milly's Nursery: Dresser as Changing Table

When I started mapping out what would actually fit in Milly's nursery, I decided on 3 main pieces: 1) Crib 2) Rocker 3) Changing table (if you have an older home like ours...build in 1952...you totally understand...full of character with NO storage and smaller bedrooms). Regardless of size,I had images in my mind of what I wanted her nursery to look like. One of the main pieces of furniture that I wanted to use was a dresser as her changing table to provide more storage. I wanted white, distressed, and french inspired. These were the images floating in my head...

Jourdan Dresser $1149
Marais Dresser
$999
Emelia Dresser
$949
Aren't these Restoration Hardware Baby pieces AMAZING?! YES, they totally are! However, they are also very overpriced. So, I started my search for the perfect dresser for our sweet baby girls nursery. My next option was from a store called Nadeau. They have beautiful pieces with great prices. Here is the dresser I had my eye on.
Nashville Nadeau $435

Although I loved this dresser, I was looking for a dresser that was a little larger. Jeremy and I searched craigslist and found a beautiful dresser in Spring Hill (about 45 minutes away). We spoke with lady and headed out to see the dresser last night. It was love at first sight. Perfect look, size, and price! Here is Milly's changing table/dresser.
Milly's Dresser/Changing Table $175=what a deal!!!!

Nashville Baby Shower

I am BACK! It has been months since I blogged and I promise I will try to do better! I am so excited to update everyone on my Nashville baby shower. Three of my wonderful girlfriends outdid themselves last Sunday. The Lilly Pulitzer themed (pink and green..ahhhh) baby shower was ADORABLE! Thank you to all of our family and friends for a perfect day! Only 2 more months until our sweet Milly is here!

Here are a few pictures from this special day.

Baby Northcutt Gender Reveal

Boy OR Girl?! That is what we ALL wanted to know Saturday night at Baby Northcutt's gender reveal party. So, this is how it all played out...

Jeremy and I had our 20 week ultrasound last Friday. I was thrilled to have my mom and aunt in town. The four of us went back and I got all jellied up on the table. We notified the ultrasound tech that we would like for her to write down the gender of the baby on a sealed envelope and NOT to tell us. When she zoomed in on the bottom, we all turned our heads. It was so hard to look away!!! After, the ultrasound, we dropped the envelope off at the bakery. The girls at the bakery were so excited because they were the FIRST people(outside of the doctors office) to know the gender of our little one.
20 week ultrasound(I look HUGE in this picture!!!!)

All of the waiting was worth it on Saturday night! Our family and closest friends joined us for dinner and the cake cutting! Guests wore pink or blue to vote on the gender. I will say that team blue outnumbered team pink! Once everyone arrived, the decision was made to cut the cake BEFORE having dinner. I don't think I could have waited another minute to find out. All of our family and friends gathered around our dining room table. I felt so many emotions before cutting the cake. It was that same excited/nervous feeling you get right before you walk down the aisle!

 And the big moment...

It's a GIRL!!!! Jeremy and I are more than THRILLED and we can not wait to hold our sweet baby girl in January! Now we just have to work on a name:)

Heather

WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

Well, here goes nothing! Since Jeremy and I have so many friends and family that are out of state, I thought a blog would be a perfect way to keep everyone updated. I am new to all of this blog business, so I hope I will keep it up to date.

As everyone already knows,we are expecting our first baby in January 2012. Jeremy and I are thrilled and I hope to use the blog to update everyone on Baby Northcutt's status and other happenings in the Northcutt home.

I am currently 17 weeks-so only 3 weeks until we find out the gender of our little peanut! SO, mark your calendars for August 20th-we will announce the gender that night at a small gathering of friends and family.

Lets chat soon!

XOXO,
Heather
